And I’m playing on the official iRO Ymir server now!! I just…can’t..believe this is happening this has been my dream since like the 8th grade. I am a senior in college o m g WOW I can’t believe I have stuck with RO for so long even though everyone has pretty much been like “RO is the worst MMO out there why do you even play it” and I just look at them and try SO HARD to imbed my feelings of the game into their brain and it always backfires on me and it comes out as just jumbled words and and and
I’m sure all of you have that one game that just triggers immense nostalgia and makes you feel all fuzzy and awesome. maybe its SBURB idk
So, in case I haven’t told you yet or are curious (for my RL friends that follow this blog and for anyone else curious about my life haha), my old house that I’ve been moving out of was broken into day before yesterday.
Guh, AP Studio Art portfolio commentary, why can’t I make you sound not retarded? I’m awful at explaining my art to strangers, let alone people who are going to rate my art and give me an actual grade!
/dumb art kid
GPOY me throughout college seriously.
I was like pooping bricks every time I would have to go through a review (junior review, sophomore review, etc). They’d be like, what was your motivation through this? And I’m just like………………. “I picked the color scheme out from colourlovers.comThe colors go well together because they’re complimentary.”
And my teachers are like
（ 눈_ 눈 ） next question
Seriously though good luck on all of your AP Art stuff!!! YOUR ART IS AMAZING YOU’LL DO GREAT OKAY.
So I hung out with one of my bff's a couple of weekends ago and she asked me some questions about art, so I thought I'd go ahead and make a post about it here too!
Q. What settings should I scan in?
A. Well, when I scan images, especially if it’s something I’m going to use as a base layer to ink over in Photoshop or SAI, I scan all my images in at anywhere from 300-600 DPI. Woah, that’s huge I know, but it also gives you a lot of room to work with and lets you resize smaller with ease. (I would rather scale an image down than scale an image up, so you don’t have to worry about stretching pixels or anything of the sort.) Also, if you have a finished work that you’re wanting to scan, that same resolution applies as well—600 DPI is great for 11x17” posters.
Also, something to keep in mind is that most scanners have at least two or three different settings: Grayscale, Black & White (Text), and Color. Grayscale is really good for sketches (unless you use a colored pencil to sketch with and you want to keep the color, then obviously scan in color). Text is really good for bold, contrasting linework, and color is of course the best for colored works.
I’m posting this on this blog because I have a part in this somewhat. My friends are interested in running a Homestuck panel at AnimeFEST here in Dallas in September. Everything was set up, auditions are going smoothly, but unfortunately we were hit with something we did not expect.
For a convention that isn’t until September, we were told in April that the panel would be declined from the schedule. The reasoning being that it did not fit the “anime” category and that the convention wanted to keep to that genre.
Normally, this would not be a problem if the convention really did keep to the “anime only” genre of anything. AnimeFEST has, in years past, held panels and events related to non-anime subjects. Panels, themed dances, video game events, etc. This makes it extremely unfair to us as con goers to be able to do what we would like to do, because of some silly hypocritical deal.
What I’m asking is if you would read the petition and sign it and reblog this around for others to see. Even if you aren’t attending the convention, a signature would be highly appreciated. If you leave a comment, please be courteous and simple. We are trying to show Afest that we aren’t just a webcomic and that we’re just trying to have fun at a convention, and that they can afford to give us one slot for a panel.
Any help would be greatly appreciated, thank you!
Reblogging for help I suppose! I’ll be attending AFest in September as an artist, however I would like to go to some panels as well… I’m not sure if AFest is declining the Homestuck panel for what they think Homestuckers are like ?? (such as that horrible spitting in the bucket HS video or just videos of homestuckers being really loud and/or obnoxious or just the negative connotations that goes with being a Homestucker, etc)…but I don’t see why AFest wouldn’t hold a HS panel, especially when I’ve been to plenty of panels at AFest that don’t go with the anime genre (ball jointed dolls? tea parties? Matt Hermes [Sonic the Hedgehog comic artist] panel where he talked about nothing but really awkward things that happened to him?)—they go with anime/Japanese/otaku related things as well…
I’ll be signing the petition simply for the fact that I very much enjoy Homestuck, and have had past experience with being the co-host of a HS Meetup and it actually being very successful… I really hope AFest isn’t doing this because of dumb stereotypes that fandoms tend to bring along with them. :( From what I recall, there was a huge HS photoshoot last year that had to be brought out of the way because it was such a growing fandom…I don’t recall any of them being problematic, really, and every HS’er I met was super nice.
Pass the word along, sign the petition! Bring a little bit of HS to AFest!
;-; So I’m in dire need of money! I’ve been blocked out of the email I used for my past commissions so I have lost all my pending information and contacts. It’s a -really- embarrassing predicament…so I apologize sincerely if you have been trying to get into contact with me. Any of you can now…
Oh man oh man. Please commission skoptsy! If I had the money to spare (which I might tomorrow) I totally would, ahhhh, such great art here for such a good price! Any little bit helps!! ♥
For any of you who are taking Print Production or graphics classes that deal a lot with printing and printing terms—this website is super useful! I’ve practically been using it for all of my Production classes…
