It’s a Saturday night, and you’re all alone. There’s only one place to go. 

You walk in. The barista gives you a slight nod. He’s not surprised you’re here. In fact, he’s been expecting you for some time. He quits his subconscious drying of glasses to pour you some just the way you like it. After all this time, he hasn’t forgotten. 

And there, sitting in the corner of the coffee house with the guitar in his lap, is just the guy you were hoping to see. Here is the guy who seems to understand exactly what’s eating you because everything’s eaten him at some point. He doesn’t ask you where you’ve been, but he smiles to himself because he knows why you’re here.

“You here for a song?” he asks you. “Got a request?”

You leave it up to him, and he doesn’t disappoint. 

Whatever your reason for coming here tonight, somehow you’re glad it worked out like this. Somewhere between the coffee and the beats and the way the room is lit you realize some nights this is all you need.
